Status
The BPM/Agent Stack is a working specification (v1.1, April 2026). It formalizes the bridge between the established discipline of Business Process Management — standardized through BPMN 2.0, DMN 1.0, and codified in the ABPMP BPM CBOK — and AI agent architectures that need execution governance but whose builders do not know the source discipline exists.
Companion Specification
The BPM/Agent Stack governs execution — how authorized work gets done with process discipline, deterministic decision separation, structured exception handling, and audit trails.
The Intent Stack governs context — what an agent is authorized to do, by whom, under what constraints, and how alignment is continuously assessed.
Together, seven governance concerns across two specifications. Neither duplicates the other. They meet at a clean stitching point where governance intent becomes actionable execution specification.
